Video Guidelines & Rules

Consider This for your videos

  1. Try and keep your videos fun and positive.

  2. Depict how Driving Sober really is the "Normal" thing to do.

  3. How to be responsible by planning a sober ride (i.e., Designated Driver, Uber, Lyft, Taxi, Bus, Etc.) before drinking and how you stick to the plan.

  4. Demonstrate what choosing to "not drive impaired" might look like  (i.e., If you feel different, you drive different Ad)

  5. Dance, Sing, Parkour, Juggle, Run, Bike, Swim, Eat...for Sober Drivers.

  6. Thank you to a Sober Driver.

  7. I get to do this ________ today because I chose to drive sober yesterday.

  8. If This...Then This (IFTTT) - If this is great...then so is driving sober.   If this is the right thing to do, then so is choosing a sober ride.   If you love her/him, then he/she will love a sober driver.

  9. Be Creative, inspire others, and blow our minds!   You've Got This!

  10. Make more than one video.

Consider Avoiding

  1. The traditional Driving Under the Influence (DUI) marketing images that have been done.  (i.e., Vehicle Crashes, Police, Tickets, Jail, Death, Injuries, etc.)

  2. "Don't" messages - (i.e., Don't Drink and Drive, Etc.)

  3. Telling people what they should do.

  4. Traditional "Power & Authority" messages - (i.e., Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.  Drive High & Get a DUI, Police arresting an offender, Handcuffs, Court Rooms, Etc.)

  5. People obviously impaired, intoxicated or drunk.

Not Allowed

  1. Videos that promote or encourage Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Driving While Intoxicated (DUI), Driving while High, Distracted Driving, or any other perceived dangerous driving behavior.​

  2. Videos that are sexually explicit or suggestive, pornographic, or contains nudity.

  3. Videos that are unnecessarily violent.

  4. Videos that are derogatory to any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, profession or age group.

  5. Videos that are considered profane.

  6. Videos that promote the use of illegal drugs, illegal use of prescription medications, or the illegal use of other substances.

  7. Videos that promote firearms or weapons

  8. Videos that contain activities that appear unsafe or unnecessarily dangerous

  9. Videos that promote any particular political agenda or message

  10. Videos that promote or endorses any form of hate or hate group.

  11. Videos that violate any law.

  12. Videos that contain trademarks, logos, or trade dress (such as distinctive packaging) owned by others, without permission, to the extent permission is necessary.

  13. Videos that contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including music, photographs, sculptures, paintings, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies, or other media), without permission, to the extent permission is necessary.

  14. Videos that violate any TikTok Community Guidelines, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, or Copyright Policy

  15. Videos that duplicate (including Duet or Stitch) other submitted Entries unless both videos belong to the entrant.

  16. Videos that duplicate (including Duet or Stitch) videos not belonging to the Entrant.  Entrants may Duet or Stitch their own original content.

  17. Videos that were made before the "Contest Period" beginning on March 29, 2021 at 8:00 AM (MST)

  18. Videos that were made after the "Contest Period" ending on April 16, 2021 at 11:59 PM (MST)

Additional Information to note:

  1. All Entries must be in a sharable format, during the "Contest Period" that allows them to be "Saved" from TikTok

  2. All Entries may be utilized, reboradcast, saves, or shared to other social media, web, or other media outlets (with attribution to the participant and/or the originating TikTok Account) for the purposed of promoting or educating other in regards, but not limited to, Sober Driving, Safe Driving Behaviors, Safe Decision Making, Healthy Behaviors, etc. during and following the Contest Period.

Winner Determination:

  1. All eligible Entries, uploaded to TikTok, must contain the above mentioned Hashtags in order to be tracked,

  2. Eligible Entries will be judged by a panel of qualified judges based on the following criteria: (1) Video with the greatest number of unique video likes (Hearts), within the TikTok app, that meets all the listed criteria will be designated the winner. (2) Additionally entries may be judged on the effectiveness at conveying the drive sober message. 

  3. At the conclusion of the contest, the Top 10 Videos with the most likes (one video per TikTok account owner in the Top 10 – see below) will be selected and the Entry owner’s status (i.e., Enrolled University of Montana or Montana State University Student) will be verified by the Sponsor.  Should any of the Top 10 Entries not be eligible under these terms and conditions the next eligible entry will be selected and verified.  If the top-ranking Entry is verified and eligible to win, the remaining Top 10 entries may not need to be formally verified.

  4. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker judge(s) will judge the tied Entries and determine the winner based upon the following criteria: (1) inspirational nature of the video, (2) overall entertainment value, (3) virality of video, and (4) Spirit (matching the “Criteria” of the contest)

  5. Should a particular TikTok account have more than one video that ranks in the Top 10 Videos at the end of the competition, only the top ranking video (most likes) that meets all other "Contest" requirements will remain in the Top 10 and be eligible to win the overall prize.
