At Drive Safe Missoula, we see the incredible superpowers you activate every single day, and this National Superhero Day (April 28th!), we're here to celebrate you!

You might not have a secret lair (or maybe you do), but you possess abilities that protect lives and keep our city humming along safely. It doesn't take a gamma-ray burst or a mystical hammer to be a traffic safety hero – just smart, consistent choices. Let's dive into the heroic powers we see activated across Missoula!

Power #1: Heroic Power (Driving 100% Sober)

Think of your favorite sharp-sensed hero – maybe someone who can track a villain from miles away or react in the blink of an eye. That level of focus is exactly what we channel when we choose to drive 100% sober. It's like having your internal superpower dial turned all the way up…to 11! When our heads are clear, our reaction times are lightning-fast, and our decision-making is on point.

That's some serious force-field power!  Additionally, our seat belts keep us positioned behind the controls of the vehicle so if something bad happens we can implement our super driving skills and potentially “drive” out of a bad situation.  If we get bounced out of position, even by a couple inches, we might not be in a position to steer or break properly which ultimately causes us to crash.

It's inspiring to see that buckling up has become such a strong social norm here (over 95% of Missoula drivers wear a seat belt) and across Montana. It shows that most of us recognize the incredible protection this simple action provides.
